Popular radio and TV presenter Doireann Garrihy has made the decision to bid farewell to RTÉ 2FM after an impressive five-year stint. Her departure marks the end of an era for the station.

Gratitude and New Ventures

Doireann expressed her gratitude to the listeners who faithfully tuned in to the 2FM Breakfast show. She reminisced about the early mornings, saying, "There wasn't a day I didn't hop out of bed at 5am." She thanked her co-hosts, Donncha O'Callaghan and Carl Mullan, calling them "brothers for life."

Looking ahead, Doireann revealed her exciting plans: "Now, it's time for my podcasts, 'Doireann and Friends' and 'The Laughs Of Your Life,' to travel, to give more to the people who have been on this journey with me since the viral impressions video of 2016, and to pursue the projects I've been dreaming about."

Station's Perspective

Head of RTÉ 2FM, Dan Healy, praised Doireann's exceptional broadcasting skills and acknowledged her significant contribution to the team. He expressed both regret and respect for her decision to leave, emphasizing that she leaves 2FM in good shape.

Farewell and Best Wishes
