Around the Districts: Bree-Galbally to Clonegal-Kildavin

Scoil Mhuire Ballyhogue is holding an Open Night on Tuesday 6th February from 7-8pm. All are welcome to attend.

S.N. Seosamh Naofa is now accepting enrolments for September 2024. Contact the office ([email protected] or 053-9247725) for an application. The enrolment process closes on 1st March.

Ballyhogue GAA Lotto numbers drawn on Wednesday 17th January were 2, 7, 8, 25. No Jackpot winner. Match 3’s include Rosemary Redmond, Nicholas & Eithne Doyle, Breda Kiely, Tony Ryan, John Murphy, Valerie O’Rourke, and Niall Doyle. Next jackpot is €2,800, with the next draw on 31st January.

The Lending Library in Bree Community Centre has been completely restocked. All are welcome to take a book or leave a book.

Wexford Mental Health Association will hold a Church Gate Collection outside Bree church on Saturday 27th January and Sunday 28th January.


Mass Times for Caim are Sunday Morning at 10am. Weekday Mass will continue this Wednesday at 9.30am. Adoration will return in the new year.

The annual Caim New Years Party will take place on Sunday 28th January at 2pm in Caim Community Centre. Invitation not necessary; all are welcome.

Caim Men’s Shed will resume on Wednesday morning 24th January from 10am to 1pm. Contact Paddy at 087 6341532 for more details.

From 29th January, Caim National School will be accepting applications for enrolment for September 2024. Contact 053 9255534 for application forms and more information. National Grandparents Day will be celebrated in Caim with Mass at 9.30am followed by refreshments in the School. All grandparents are welcome.


CPR and AED Hands of Life Training will take place on Saturday, February 10, in St Brigids Hall, Clonegal from 11am to 12.30pm. To book a place, please contact Sheila on 087 7634510.

The Clonegal Kildavin Veteran Players host Exercise Classes in the Spellman Hall on each Thursday at 8pm. The classes are free thanks to funding from Carlow County Council and are aimed at people who are older or who do not normally engage in physical activity.

The Clonegal Kildavin Veteran Players book “This is Us” still has some copies available for sale. Featuring over 300 local people, it retails at €12.

St Pauls Kildavin will host an Ecumenical Service on Thursday, January 25 at 7.30pm.
